So, I made a mistake with JJL. A genuine mistake, and I offered full compensation to him. I'm asking the UC for its opinion on whether JJL's pre-announced retaliatory strikes on me are acceptable, given that the opening line of the UC charter reads: "We pledge to not attack anything belonging to other members of The United Corporations and to not allow members of our corporations to attack other members of The United Corporations."
In my opinion, it's NOT his prerogative to make my ships jump in what will most likely be the middle of a timer, causing me much more damage (generally in the region of 6-8 M) than the loss he theoretically had (in practice: none, because he didn't actually act on his timer when it was ready so didn't lose earning capacity by flying elsewhere and starting a COM there). I offered him full compensation, he didn't want it. Fine. I can even live with him jumping the ship in question, because that would keep my losses at no more than what I would've paid him in QP, even if it involves a reset timer, but since he loves to talk about principles, my principle is that ANY attack on ANY other ship of mine, is an act of war, and may be dealt with accordingly.
My posts in blue, his in black (who is in red? I am assuming it's you).
Alpha HD 10647... saw you were doing a hijacker mission there. I had both a hijacker and a looter mission for the same location. Activated the looter last night and planned to wait with the hijacker till you were done.
Of course, when I woke up at 4 A.M. this morning and saw the timer on the station had expired, I opened fire and wanted to start the second round. I think you can guess what the combination of sleepiness and a mobile phone caused...
It accidentally added 720 K power to you battle, some 10% then. I hope that doesn't cause you trouble. If your mission is close to the edge of what you can deal with, I'll send my strongest ship in to finish it off, and you can collect your reward when it's done.
If you can still kill those hijackers like this, I'll send you 4 QP (mission reward is $800,000 for me) in compensation.
Right intentions, wrong execution, sorry again...
Battle is done. Below is the report. Better hope I don't see your little punk ass around.
Alpha HD 10647
Attacker opened fire!
[Long battle report]
Attacker victory!
Giving us a lot of incentive to confess a genuine mistake (and compensating it!) next time with such a pollite response, Emperor. If I had just buggered off without a trace, you wouldn't have known who it was.
And yet afterwards you bugger off without waiting for me to reply back. This actually makes me wonder how honest you are being. This makes twice now someone from your corp has done this to me. You can ask torh what happened. I just paid him back for what happened last time.
Yeah we know all about your paranoia Jam, drop it already.
I actually buggered off so as a) not to cloud the battlefield, and b) to go elsewhere to collect solars to compensate you like I promised and delivered.
I never said I wanted compensation.
[In between, I twice sent him 4 QP, my mission reward of ± $800,000 rounded up in QP, and he twice returned it]
they're yours, you earnt them. Again, I really am sorry. But I'm not going down on my knees to beg for forgiveness.
I don't need it. My timer was already counted down and 4 QP to me is small compared to how many I can easily get. Next time just ask me when my timer is up. Don't leave COMs sitting around. After the day I have had today I am not in the mood for any bull****. That includes people dropping COMs on me. Don't worry I won't try to hunt you down. But if I spot one of your ships it is getting jumped. I won't destroy any property though. This isn't about revenge, vengeance or anything like that. It is the principal of the matter.
I must advise you that if we're going to talk principles, an attack on a senator of new rome may be considered an attack on SPQNR itself.
Might I advise you to watch what your doing with COMs. It could be said a senator of a corp who drops a COM on a corp member they have an agreement with not to drop COMs on could be doing it intentionally to cause problems on that said corp and that the message sent was merely a ploy to try to make them look like the good guys so if war were to break out from an attack back for that said attack they can look like they did nothing wrong and I was completely in the wrong.
[Another reply to "I never said I wanted compensation."]
No, but I didn't know at the BECAUSE you hadn't replied. And I thought it was the honourable thing to do. Can't you for once believe in the good side of people?
I used to be able to. But these days I find it harder and harder to do. From my experience most people are liars and not very honorable.
You have two choices: take my word (in combination with my bloody actions!) for it, or just get it over with and call me a liar straight to my face.
You're not the only one who had a sh*t day. Up to you how far you want to let things escalate.
/over and out
I went from a great weekend to one day in the middle being really good and then going to hell. With how upset, hurt and emotionally unstable at the moment, I really don't care what sort of threats you make. So fine I will say it. Liar! You say you accidentally clicked the wrong COM after finishing the mission but how can I know that is true? Then you offer a meager 4 QP as compensation. It isn't about compensation. The mission you dropped was small. Had you stuck around, I'd likely have even accepted your apology. But by running off it makes me question your motives. Tired or not I assume you should be able to read. If you are telling the truth perhaps next time you need to read more carefully which mission you click
Well, if you go back and read EVERYTHING I said, and STILL think your response is appropriate, then go f*ck yourself Jam.
The 4 Qp was the rounded up reward I got on the unintentional free ride. I also offered to send a stronger ship to give YOU a free ride instead. And read back exactly HOW I activated that COM! especially the part on the other one already in that orbit.
Everyone in AG knows about your emotional instability. Go talk to a shrink but don't take it out on us.
Actually I was quite stable before today. Yeah I would get ****ed sometimes but nothing like this. This has to do a women and my heart is slowly being ripped apart. I can feel my sanity fading. But there is something that remains clear to me. It is starting to seem like a trend for your corp to be dropping corps on people. I would have an easier time believing you if this was the first time a member of your corp had done this. I get the feeling many of the dropped COMs on people lately have been from your people. Perhaps it was just carelessness when done. Hard telling with some of your people. But I have had enough COMs dropped on me. So my patients for it has run out. That said a hit on a ship isn't a big loss. I am not even planning on hunting you down. But if I see one of your ships and if I can hit it, I will. I won't destroy any orbital or planetary installations though. This is a policy I am adopting for all people who drop a COM on me from now on. I am tired of this happening and perhaps this will get people to watch where they are dropping them from now on.
